Well after a busy few months, i've finally got time to reflect on a successful summer term we have had at Rubix.
As always the projects I work on in conjunction with the Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre have been a great success again. Here are just some of our highlights.
WOW- Welcome to our world, At Sacred Heart Catholic School, Birmingham.
Creating dance pieces with every year group from Reception to Year 6, around the theme of migration and journeys.
ALADDIN- HodgeHill School
Creating the movement pieces for HodgeHill Primary school Year 6. Working alongside the ever talented Director Emily Summers.
GUYS AND DOLLS- Shirelands Collegiate Academy
Over the last 6 months myself and my partner in crime at the Birmingham Hippodrome have been working with the wonderfully talented bunch of young people at Shirelands Thursday Theatre School.
The cast went above and beyond our expectations. Probably the most hard working cast of young people from the ages of 12-18, who produced an amazing piece of theatre.
WORKSHOPS, TEACHER TRAINING AND SYLLABUS WRITING-
The last term has seen me deliver some amazing one day workshops for the Royal Academy of Dance in many musicals up and down the country from Derby to Cornwall!!!
It has also seen me delivery the new Primary Musical Theatre Syllabus for the British Ballet Organisation of which I have had great pleasure helping in write with Julie Bowers and Garry Clarke, so much fun was had in the studio.
The end of July saw me deliver the first Teacher Training day for the Associated Board of Dance of the brand new Contemporary Dance Syllabus that I have written for Grades 1-3. The syllabus was a great success and I'm already very excited to be heading to Wales and Essex in September to deliver the syllabus to even more teachers.
August is already looking busy and I cant wait to share with you all of the projects I will be working on, along with more exciting information about our Performance Hub!
Here's to an exciting 2nd half of 2017!!!
Keep moving.... Keep Creative... Keep Dancing,
