Clare’s versatility, passion for performing and nurturing young talent has enabled her 17 year career to date to be one with such variety.

What are your favourite dance styles?

Musical Theatre, Jazz, Contemporary/Creative. (Also love Latin American... big Strictly fan!)

Favourite performance you've ever been involved in?

Whilst on UK Tour in 2004, performing to 10'000 people at an outdoor festival as a presenter, singer and dancer.

I've also loved every visit i've made to The Belfast Opera house on tour too, a magical theatre!

Why do you love teaching?

For me the love of teaching comes from seeing young people grow in confidence, personality, self achievement and developing everyday skills through the arts. When growing up my dance teachers were and still are role models for me, I hope to be the same for those who i teach.

I love it when young professionals who i once taught many years ago continue to be in contact and even come back and work for my companies, Rubix Dance and also Rubix Dance and Productions. Such a wonderful achievement!

What are your favourite dance styles?

Favourite dance styles include, Jazz, Contemporary and Street Dance.

Favourite performance you've ever been involved in?

In 2015 I performed in a contemporary show at the Swan Theatre named ‘Recall’ where I was privileged to perform a lead role in the headlining piece created by the talented choreographer Anna Lines.

Why do you love teaching?

I turned to teaching to introduce the incredible feeling to youngsters felt when performing for family and friends and the fun had during rehearsals. The sense of accomplishment, excitement and pride when opening night arrives is always a pleasure for both me and and my students.

What is your dance background?

I began my professional Dance training at CPA Studios for 3 years and obtained a National Diploma Level 6 in Musical Theatre. After graduating, I worked abroad for 6 months and performed as a dancer at different hotels. Once I was home, I decided I wanted to complete my degree and now I have a BA Hons in Professional Practice in Dance. While studying for my degree I worked, and still do, for Rubix Dance and Productions and Impact Dancers where we perform one night shows and gigs around the UK. I also work for Bromsgrove Gymnastics Club where I have received my Level 1 in gymnastics coaching.

What are your favourite dance style?

Musical Theatre/Jazz but I love contemporary as well

Favourite performance you have ever been involved in?

My graduating show! It was so full of love and emotion and it was the last time I shared the stage with all my true friends.

Why do you love teaching?

I love teaching because I enjoy watching children’s confidence grow through the use of dance. I want to pass on my knowledge and passion of dance and to help mould the next generation of performers.

What is your dance background?

I trained at Bird College in London, graduating with a BA Honours degree in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre. Since graduating I have performed over the UK with both Rubix Dance & Productions and The Vegas Showgirls. I also took a 9 month working holiday to Australia where I was able to further my training at Sydney Dance Company and D.U.T.I Studios in Sydney.

What are your favourite dance styles?

Commercial & Lyrical Jazz, Contemporary and Musical Theatre.

Favourite performance you've ever been involved in?

It has to be in Crazy for You whilst I was at Bird. I played the role of Lottie Childs and a Follie Girl. I remember seeing Crazy for You in the West End when I was young and fell in love with Gershwin's music from that moment.. so to then perform in a musical based on his music was a pure delight.

Why do you love teaching?

When working with children and young people I am constantly reminded of the reason why I pursued a career in the Performing Arts. Their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn gives me enormous satisfaction. I love the challenge of bringing together a performance and the sense of pure joy and accomplishment once on stage is something very special, a feeling I think all people should have the opportunity to experience.
